Lagavulin is a renowned whisky distillery located on the island of Islay in Scotland. Established in 1816, it has a long and storied history of producing peated single malt Scotch whiskies. Lagavulin is known for its rich, smoky, and complex expressions, which have garnered a dedicated following among whisky enthusiasts worldwide. The whiskies from Lagavulin are characterised by their distinct Islay peat smoke. They are known for their robust, maritime, and heavily peated flavour profiles, which often exhibit notes of smouldering peat, iodine, brine, and a hint of sweetness. Lagavulin whiskies typically display a balance between smoky intensity and layers of flavour that unfold on the palate.

These limited editions are released annually to coincide with the Lagavulin sponsorship of the Islay Jazz Festival. The 2021 release was matured for 13 years and finished in an ex-mezcal cask, and limited to 3000 bottles.
