BENRINNES 1992 30 Year Old Casks of Distinction #9956

BENRINNES 1992 30 Year Old Casks of Distinction #9956

Benrinnes Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery located in the Speyside region of Scotland. It is situated near the village of Aberlour, close to the River Spey. The distillery was established in 1826 by Peter Mackenzie, John Innes, and Donald Macintosh.

The production process at Benrinnes is somewhat unique compared to other distilleries, as it utilizes a partial triple distillation method. Most Scotch whiskies undergo double distillation, but at Benrinnes, some of the spirit is distilled twice, while the remainder goes through a third distillation in a “worm tub” condenser. This unusual distillation process is believed to contribute to the character of the whisky, giving it a robust and complex flavor profile.

Casks of Distinction is the private sale of individual casks of rare and exceptional Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Diageo’s extensive stocks in Scotland. Hand selected by a team of whisky experts under guidance from Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson, each cask is entirely unique and incredibly rare. Each Cask of Distinction is chosen on the basis of their quality, representing the most exceptional and singular expression of the distillery’s character.

This whisky was distilled in November 1992 and aged for 30 years in single PX oloroso sherry seasoned European oak cask #9956 before being bottled in November 2022. One of 325 bottles.
