DALMORE 1973 30 Year Old Gonzalez Byass Finish

DALMORE 1973 30 Year Old Gonzalez Byass Finish

The Dalmore Distillery is a prominent Scottish whisky distillery located in Alness, in the Highland region of Scotland. It is renowned for producing single malt whiskies with a long and storied history, dating back to 1839 when it was founded by Alexander Matheson. The distillery sits on the northern shores of the Cromarty Firth, providing a picturesque backdrop for whisky production. The location’s proximity to water and access to quality barley and peat have contributed to the distinct character of Dalmore whiskies.

One of the most iconic symbols associated with Dalmore whiskies is the royal stag’s head, which adorns each bottle. This emblem traces its origins to 1263 when King Alexander III of Scotland saved Clan Mackenzie’s chief from a charging stag during a hunting expedition. As a token of gratitude, the chief granted the King the right to use the stag’s head on his coat of arms. This symbol remains closely linked to Dalmore whiskies, as the Mackenzie family historically owned the distillery.

This bottle of 30 year old Dalmore was distilled on the 22nd March 1973 and matured in American oak, finished in Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks from Gonzalaz Byass.
