Caol Ila is a renowned whisky distillery located on the island of Islay in Scotland. Established in 1846, it is known for producing peated single malt Scotch whiskies that embody the distinctive Islay style. Caol Ila whiskies are highly regarded for their smoky, maritime character and complexity. The whiskies from Caol Ila are characterized by their peat smoke, which is derived from the traditional drying of malted barley using peat fires. This imparts a distinct smoky aroma and flavor to the whiskies, often described as a combination of campfire smoke, brine, and medicinal notes. Despite the prominent peat influence, Caol Ila whiskies often maintain a delicate balance with fruity, floral, and sweet undertones.

This whisky was distilled on 22nd September 2010 and aged in refill sherry butt for 10 years before bottled in 2020. One of 660 bottles.
