ARDBEG Alligator Untamed Release

Located on the southern coast of Islay, an island in Scotland. Ardbeg whiskies are known for their intensely smoky and peaty character, which stems from the traditional production methods employed at the distillery. The malt used in Ardbeg’s whiskies is malted with peat, which imparts a distinctive smoky flavour during the drying process. The whiskies often feature complex layers of maritime, briny, and medicinal notes, with hints of citrus and chocolate.

A fierce charring to the cask or ‘alligator char’ provides the name for this whisky, aggressive heat when applied to the inside of the casks causes the cracking of the wood which resembles that of an alligator’s skin. Following the acclaimed committee release, the un-tamed edition was released in 2011 and quickly sold out.
