Glengyle is a distillery located in Campbeltown, Scotland, known for producing fine single malt Scotch whisky. Originally established in 1872, the distillery faced several closures and changes of ownership throughout its history. However, it was resurrected in 2004 and renamed Glengyle Distillery. Under the ownership of the Mitchell family, who also owns the renowned Springbank Distillery, Glengyle has gained a reputation for its traditional production methods and commitment to quality. The distillery produces whisky under the brand name Kilkerran, with releases including both core expressions and limited editions. Kilkerran whiskies are often described as complex, with a balance of fruity, smoky, and malty flavors. The 12 year old was first released in 2016 as one of their first core range bottling. This bottle is the 2021 batch.
